As a member of the soloist ensemble at The Royal Opera in Copenhagen for more than 25 years, the Danish composer Carl Nielsen is a part of my musical DNA.
I love singing his songs and have recorded several of them, which are released on Naxos.
I sang Jonathan in a production of Carl Nielsen’s first opera Saul and David. Back in 1996 I recorded for Decca the part of Arv in his opera Maskarade. More recently, I sang the lyric part of Leander in two productions and now it is time to sing the third tenor part in Maskarade; Hr Leonard, one of the opera’s two grumpy old men.
I sing Hr. Leonard on the following dates (2020/2021):
